Celebrating
human
connectedness
through
storytelling
Our shared stories weave the web of community.
From ancient times, stories have relayed wisdom from the elders, guidance for the young, entertainment on long, dark nights and laughter from the belly of the bards. Most of us cherish a favorite story from childhood, one we wanted to hear told again and again and eventually learned by heart.
As technology takes over our lives, a revision of this ancient art holds out promise for the recovery of our imaginations and for the shared fabric of our local communities.
About WithOurVoice
We believe in the healing power of story to create a more vibrant, interconnected, and peaceful world.
WithOurVoice, Inc. is a community organization promoting storytelling–traditional and otherwise– at local venues, monthly events, festivals and trainings.
We oversee two programs in the Capital Region: Children at the Well, a youth program which trains diverse groups of young teenagers in the art of storytelling, and the Interfaith Story Circle which holds informal monthly circles.
We are also involved in propagating our programs nationally.
We believe all people can embrace who they are,
Can Define Their Future,
and can change the world.
Our Mission
To increase capacity for intercultural understanding, build diverse community connections and grow compassionate leaders, through the ancient art of storytelling.
Our Vision
We envision a world where human connectedness is sought and celebrated by lifting up cultural and individual identity and voice, resulting in a deeper understanding and appreciation of ourselves, others, and the world around us.
Programs
WithOurVoice,Inc. oversees two programs,
